Megagame De Bello Gallico

Er is een bericht ontvangen dat er een Megagame gepland wordt.
Bij een megagame moet je je voorstellen dat er een 100-tal spelers en jury-leden samen komen om gezamenlijk een spel te spelen. Er worden commando's uitgegeven aan het deel van de partijen die jij en jouw team vertegenwoordigen. En op basis van informatie die je van de jury-leden terug ontvangt over bewegingen die hebben plaatsgevonden op het gezamenlijke speelbord, worden nieuwe commando's gegeven. Het is heel intensief en heel spannend om een keer mee te doen.

After last year's Breakthrough 1940, Megagames Nederland will be putting on De Bello Gallico. Caesar's war in Gaul
The game will take place on 13 March 2010 in the Liefland College in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
De Bello Gallico
In the spring of 58 BC Caesar intervenes in the migration of the Gallic tribe of the Helvetii into territories of tribes allied to the Roman Republic. With great loss of life the survivors are chased back into the Alps.
This game covers the struggle between the Gallic nobles as they try to take advantage of the developments set in motion by Caesar's arrival. Should they cooperate with the Romans, or aim to establish themselves as the pre-eminent tribe of an independent Gaul? Or should they focus on strengthening their position within the tribe without regard for the greater issues?
The players will form several teams representing the most powerful tribal coalitions in Gaul with players representing the major clans within those tribes. Each will have a following, which will increase with successful raiding of neighbouring tribes and capture of booty. Although one player will lead the tribe, Gallic kingship was based on military prowess and could never be taken for granted.

The fee for the megagame will be 25 euro for a player and 15 euro for an umpire.
If you have a preference for a game role (chief, druid, bard, Roman or a particular Gallic tribe), please state these as well in your mail. We will try our best to do the casting with everybody's preference in mind, but of course we can't guarantee that you will get the role you desire (especially in the case of the Roman positions).
If you want to register as a team, we will also try to keep you together as a team, when possible. When registering as a team, you should still send us all of the above personal data for every member of the team.
